Great historical article about Rosslyn, VA in Politico yesterday. Ignore the POTUS team stuff, I don’t care about that. I care about the history and wish to make a correction to the last sentence of the 3rd paragraph. The Constitution mandated that the District shall be “NOT EXCEEDING” ten miles square. Indeed, the piece goes on to discuss the Virginia retrocession, without labeling it retrocession. It is important that we understand that this reunification occurred without amending the Constitution and those that live in Arlington vote in Virginia to this day. We in the District of Columbia, on the northern side of the Potomac, therefore, could gain our full voting rights if we repeat the process and create Douglass County, Maryland.
