Before, Maryland gave land to DC to become the Nation's Capital, the State gave land to Georgetown University for the school's creation. Georgetown University's Seal still describes this fact in Latin. Douglass County, Maryland is glad to see GU's promotion of this fact in its seal.

Douglass County, Maryland met with engaged local political scientists this afternoon at the National Capital-Area Political Science Association. David Krucoff introduced the future county to the membership and was well received by the membership.
