On Tuesday night I introduced Douglass County, Maryland to ANC 7F. I must have handed out 20 business cards that evening. Grass roots advocacy is rewarding.

Great to hear Eric Lui of Citizen University and the Aspen Institute speak about growing & using power last night at Bus Boys and Poets. Douglass County took notes and is learning from Eric's new book: "You're More Powerful than You Think, A Citizen's Guide to Making Change Happen".

Pitched Douglass County, Maryland repeatedly this morning at the 2030 Group Road Map discussion atop the Hay Adams Hotel. Met many local leaders there and they were very receptive to the creation of the future county.

Presently DC residents are short changed in terms of access to state level universities. Douglass County, Maryland provides its residents access to 14 state level universities in addition to UDC. This is another problem solved by the creation of Douglass County, Maryland. https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/can-dcs-university-turn-itself-around/2017/03/19/f8c2e776-0912-11e7-a15f-a58d4a988474_story.html?utm_term=.d5bfc08719b4

Please read this article from the Weekly Standard. The headline is unattractive but the points made in it are sound because the argument for the creation of Douglass County, Maryland is sound. http://www.weeklystandard.com/why-not-lop-off-residential-d.c.-and-make-it-maryland/article/2006804
